PIDS – Module 5

Course Overview

Commissioning & Go-Live of Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems

This course focuses on the final and critical phase of a PIDS project: commissioning and system acceptance. It provides a step-by-step framework for validating installations, configuring devices, testing system performance, and preparing systems for 24/7 operational use.

Participants will gain practical knowledge in pre-commissioning checks, device configuration, zone logic, system testing, acceptance criteria, and post-commissioning maintenance planning.

What You Will Learn

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Prepare systems for commissioning using structured readiness checklists
  • Configure devices, zones, user roles, and I/O mappings
  • Perform systematic testing including sensor calibration and integration tests
  • Validate systems against acceptance criteria (detection rate, response time, false alarms)
  • Identify and resolve common commissioning issues
  • Conduct user training and operational handover
  • Establish post-commissioning maintenance routines
